Ready to get your hands dirty?

With our clay masks and plant colour, you can ditch the gloves and extra plastic.

Some of our salons even say their hands feel so soft after working with Terre de Couleur. As long as you don't mind the colour staining, of course!

  • Detox

Before colouring, we must deeply detox the hair. This ensures removal of any products, heavy metals, pollution and toxins, that could affect the colour performance.

  • Colour

Rather than forcing the follicle open with harsh chemicals, we coat the hair instead. Providing long lasting results without compromising hair, or client health.

  • Fix

After colouring, this conditioning balm nourishes and detangles the hair without weighing it down, giving lightness, shine, softness and fixing the plant colour.

Common Qs about Plant Colour

How long does plant colour last?

TdC Colour can be used as a semi, demi, toner or a permanent colour, depending on how you use it, with no harsh demarcation lines as the natural hair grows back through.  The length of time it lasts will depend on the thickness of the mixture, the time you leave it process amongst others. Plant hair colour doesn’t sensitise the hair cuticles, instead it provides a protective shield. As you apply more often, the results can actually last for longer than chemical colours.

Can I get grey coverage?

Yes, you can get 100% grey coverage!

Can anyone have plant colour applied?

Our colour is suitable for everyone, including those experiencing pregnancy, cancer treatment and conventional colour sensitisation. Make sure to allergy test as usual.

Is this a Henna Colour?

We need to take a step back. Henna is a plant, Henna Colour is something very different.

Henna the plant is an awesome, naturally regenerative plant that can be used as a hair colour. The traditional Henna colour often gave this plant a bad name by mixing it with other additives, such as metallic salts, lead acetate, silver nitrate, and PPD.

TdC uses over 15 plants, including henna, to create a range of shades from lightest blonde to dark brown.

Metallic salts were often used in old-school Henna colours back in the day, causing all sorts of issues, but this colour is made only from plants, with no salts or other hidden nasties. In fact, TdC is perhaps the only brand that buys its plants whole, analyzes them in France and selects them after a strict control. This allows us to ensure both the quality and the freshness (as in cooking herbs, freshness of the plant has an effect on colour luminosity and intensity). Most other brands buy pre-ground pigments which do not allow this level of traceability.
